I am often blessed with meeting some of the most wonderful people in my small town.
Mary Lindquist is one of those wonderful people. The moment I stepped in to her shop, The Quilting Season, I knew that it was a special place. Mary informed me that the shop and its patrons did some amazing charitable work for the community. The quilters gather together every month to make wonderful pillow cases, dolls, and preemie quilts that are donated to C.S. Mott's Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor.
Mary and her patrons also work with Saline Area Social Services, providing cake mixes and coffee for those in need.
Each August, the shop also holds a craft garage sale, and proceeds from the sale provide backpacks and shoes for children in the area. They also help to pay for sports participation fees (which are pricey!) for those athletes who could not otherwise afford to play.
Mary and her quilting community have such a giving heart.
